Effect of Plant Growth-Promoting Bacteria Azospirillum brasilense on the Physiology of Radish (Raphanus sativus L.) under Waterlogging Stress

چکیده

Stress due to waterlogging is considered an abiotic factor that negatively affects crop production, which, together with the excessive fertilization of crops, reduces cost-effectiveness and generates need create sustainable alternatives economically environmentally. The effect inoculation Azospirillum brasilense on physiology Raphanus sativus var. Crimson Giant subjected waterlogging, was evaluated. Stomatal conductance, chlorophyll concentration a fluorescence were analyzed establish this effect, corroborating beneficial A. in radish under stress. stomatal conductance inoculated waterlogged treatments presented same values as control plants, photosystem II efficiency favored (0.6 Fv/Fm) compared non-inoculated (0.3 Fv/Fm). results suggested increased preservation photosynthetic pigments tissues, allowing reduction amount energy dissipated form heat (fluorescence) brasilense. Therefore, plant growth-promoting bacteria are responsible for activating improving some physiological mechanisms plant.

The effect of brassinosteroids on radish (Raphanus sativus L.) seedlings growing under cadmium stress

The effect of 24-epibrassinolide and 28-homobrassinolide on seed germination and seedling growth of radish (Raphanus sativus L.) was studied under cadmium toxicity. The impact of brassinosteroids (BRs) on free proline levels and the activity of antioxidant enzymes catalase (CAT; EC 1.11.1.6), peroxidase (POD; EC 1.11.1.7), superoxide dismutase (SOD; EC 1.15.1.1), ascorbic peroxidase (APOX; EC 1...

Draft Sequences of the Radish (Raphanus sativus L.) Genome

Radish (Raphanus sativus L., n = 9) is one of the major vegetables in Asia. Since the genomes of Brassica and related species including radish underwent genome rearrangement, it is quite difficult to perform functional analysis based on the reported genomic sequence of Brassica rapa. Therefore, we performed genome sequencing of radish. Short reads of genomic sequences of 191.1 Gb were obtained ...

Effect of Co-Application of Auxin-Producing Plant Growth Promoting Bacteria and Tryptophan on Wheat Growth under Water Stress Conditions

Auxin produced by plant growth-promoting bacteria (PGPR) in the wheat rhizosphere, can improve plant yield under water deficit stress condition. To investigate this issue, a completely randomized factorial design with three replications was conducted under greenhouse condition at the University of Maragheh, Eastern-Azarbayjan, Iran during 2019. Treatments were two types of growth-promoting bact...

Impact of native phosphate solubilizing bacteria on the growth and development of radish (Raphanus sativus L.) plants

This work was aimed at evaluating the activity of native phosphate solubilizing bacteria on growth and development of radish (Raphanus sativus L.) plants. Bacteria were isolated from the Departament of Sucre (Colombia) soil using selective media (NBRIP), further identifi ed by macroscopic and microscopic observation and biochemically characterized using the API System. Their ability to solubliz...

EFFECT OF BORON SUPPLY ON THE UPTAKE OF MICRONUTRIENTS BY RADISH (Raphanus sativus L.)

The present study was based on the hypothesis that Boron (B) induces changes of other micronutrients in soil-plant systems. A preliminary study was carried out in sand culture growing radish (cv. French breakfast) as a test crop, under green house conditions. The experiment was laid out in a randomized complete block design and replicated three times. Boron was applied at the rate of 0, 0.25, 0...
